The book, Thank you for Arguing, is about the art of argument. Its also about having an open mind and taking responsibility for yourself. When you have a open mind, it tells you how to make good decisions of your own. The first chapter talked about different types of arguments. The author discussed 3 types of arguments. They are persuasion, manipulation, and seduction. Persuasion is where someone convinces you to go somewhere that you don't want to go. Or do something you don't want to do. They have persuaded you. Manipulation is someone controlling you behind your back. Or tricking you to do something. Seduction is using your charm or sex appeal to get someone to do what you want. For example, when you are on a job and your boss tells you can't take off on Friday and you blow him and kiss and he lets you off. That's seduction.
The author used persuasive argument on his son. His son used up all the toothpaste and his dad was upset about it. In this chapter, George persuaded him to go downstairs to get some more toothpaste without son getting upset. The argument between George and his son could have gotten worse but he use the art of rhetoric, the art of influence to convince him to go downstairs to get some more toothpaste. Everybody argues. It's a disagreement between two people. The person with the most effective wins. And that's what the first chapter was about.
In chapter 5, it talks about fitting in with other people and getting them to like you. Decorum is the ability with behavior in a good taste propriety. The another way to fit in with other people is that tell them about thereselves. You tell them about who you are and say something about yourself, also tell them how they feel and ask them if they want to hang out or something, that's called fitting in with other people. In order to get them to like you is to wear something that is cute, like a dress with some flat shoes, or heels. When you are wearing something cute, people will identify you and being around you. When fitting around people, you should ask them for their phone number or text them and see if they want to chat.

When they are talking to each other, you are trying to get them attention to you. Character reference is a reference that a character want to do. Whenever you want them to make connections with you, this means that you want them to get your attention. In order to make them listen to you, you have to tell them how you feel about yourselves and give them the responses for themselves. The most important way to make them listen to you is to get them to like you and also trust you with your heart. I think people want to listen to you talk and tell them about yourself.

Chapter 14 talks about spot fallacies. Spot fallacies is an argument that contains proof conclusion of making a bad choice. Whenever someone is arguing about paying the bills or talking about people, it causes the bills to be robbed. The author tell you to use the logic skills and deal with it. There are three ways of spot fallacies. They are bad proof, bad conclusion, and disconnect between proof and conclusion.
